Hundreds of students have begun an occupation at Sussex University in protest at education cuts. Around 200 students are occupying a lecture theatre in the Fulton building—and they are planning to stay.

Tom, one of the occupiers, told Socialist Worker, “We’re occupying one of the new lecture theatres at Sussex which is very symbolic. It opened this year at the same time as we were told there was no money for teaching staff.

“It’s come off the back of Wednesday’s protest in London, which 500 Sussex students went to. We called a demonstration for today and didn’t plan to occupy—but that was the mood among students.

“We’ve already had messages flooding in from around Britain supporting us. We hope students on other campuses will follow suit.”

Cameron’s Con-Dem government is set to launch the biggest attack on working people since the 1920s. A financial crisis caused by the greed of bankers is being used as an excuse to dismantle the welfare state.

Workers are being made to pay for a mess they didn’t create. The price they will pay is the destruction of public services, a drive to push down wages and the loss of well over a million jobs across the public and private sectors.

We are faced with the spectre of mass unemployment with the threat that a generation of young people will be lost to the dole queue.

But none of this is necessary. The cuts are being made while big business and the rich fail to pay billions in taxes and while billions more are squandered on illegal wars and a new generation of nuclear weapons.

This pamphlet argues that Cameron’s cuts are completely unnecessary. It seeks to arm activists with the arguments they need to use at work or college.

The money is there to pay for decent public services for all. We have to resist the Tory assault on our way of life and build a movement capable of opposing the cuts and fighting for a better world.

The Battle for SURABAYA 1945-6

One of the many excellent points made by writer John Newslinger in his book ‘The Blood Never Dried’ is the selective editing out of unpleasant British Labour Party history in successive ‘histories’ of the party. One notable episode that appears to be systematically omitted is the battle for Surabaya (commemorated yearly in Indonesia) and essentially involving the heavy shelling of the city and bloody street battles against nationalist forces by British, Indian and co-opted Japanese troops in 1946

Establishing a scholarly tradition for the likes of Niall Ferguson the following books fail to note the episode:

Why should a single low paid local government worker have their wages or pensions cut whilst single banker or speculator still has their fat 2010 bonus? Who buys all this rubbish that the 70 odd % of low paid women in the Local Government Pension Scheme have ‘gold plated’ pensions? Worth maybe £4,000 per year?

By all accounts things are back to normal in the board room with 7% pay rises for execs and huge bonuses on display. Why then should we accept the cuts of Tory and Orange book millionaires for a single second? These people have no mandate and no moral or political legitimacy. How dare Tory Oxbridge spods who cheerleaded the £20bn disasters in Iraq and Afghanistan lecture us about belt tightening?

People ask what is the rational alternative? Easy 1% on the higher rate on income tax, 1.5% on corporation tax, windfall tax on shareholders, cut pointless military spending, close tax havens, the list of better options is indeed long.

So tax baby tax!

Tax is the sound of human society functioning, of people looking after each other, of the most evil and money grubbing being reigned in. Tax is civilization. Forget the Chinese Emperors and William Pit the whatever, tax has transcended its origins. Progressive taxion is our last best hope for social peace.

Aylesbury says no to EDL

The EDL’s racist, swaggering, Islamophobic supporters hoped they could take over the town of Aylesbury last Saturday and intimidate Muslims and ordinary people. They failed.

They hoped Asians and black people and trade unionists would be too scared to demonstrate against them. They failed.

Around 200 anti-EDL demonstrators, gathered in the town’s Vale Park in a show of anti-racism and support for multiculturalism.

While the anti-racist protest took place, the EDL were contained in a pen by the police. The local press put their number at 800, although other reports said it was fewer. They had come from all over Britain, with only a handful of local people their ranks.

Some made an attempt to break out towards the town mosque, but they were beaten back.

Police arrested 12 EDL supporters, eight on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons, three for public order offences and one for being drunk and disorderly.

Andrew Grant, the chief executive of Aylesbury Vale District Council said afterwards that “a range of entertainment has been organised for Monday by the Town Centre Partnership to help welcome people back to the town". Indeed – the vast majority of local people will be glad the EDL have gone.

Congratulations to all those anti-racists who came out to protest on Saturday. The ground has been laid for a vibrant local anti racist campaign.

Climate Gate...NOT!

Climate change sceptics are having a dizzy five minutes on account of some hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia being made public. Excerpts from these emails have been released and are being circulated out of context to imply dirty deeds by mainstream climate scientists.

The most popular extract is scientist Phil Jones discussing the presentation of temperature reconstructions. He states that:

“I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.”

This statement is being pinged all over the internet by climate denial trolls exercised by the threat of 'One World Government'.

So to take this one comment and deconstruct it for the sake of the would be deluded:

The paper in question is the Mann, Bradley and Hughes (1998) Nature paper on the original multiproxy temperature reconstruction, and the ‘trick’ is just to plot the instrumental records along with reconstruction so that the context of the recent warming is clear. Scientists often use the term “trick” to refer to a “a good way to deal with a problem”, rather than something that is “secret”, and so there is nothing problematic in this at all. As for the ‘decline’, it is well known that Keith Briffa’s maximum latewood tree ring density proxy diverges from the temperature records after 1960 (this is more commonly known as the “divergence problem”–see e.g. the recent discussion in this paper) and has been discussed in the literature since Briffa et al in Nature in 1998 (Nature, 391, 678-682). Those authors have always recommend not using the post 1960 part of their reconstruction, and so while ‘hiding’ is probably a poor choice of words (since it is ‘hidden’ in plain sight), not using the data in the plot is completely appropriate, as is further research to understand why this happens.

Chris Harman 1942-2009

The death of socialist activist and author Chris Harman is a sad loss to the international socialist movement. Chris died yesterday in Cairo having suffered a cardiac arrest. He was a tireless activist, writer and creative thinker. His books introduced thousands to Marxist economics and history with their clear and accessible style. He will be sorely missed, my condolences to his family and friends.

Chris wrote many fine books, my favourite is A People’s History of the World. Selected by the Independent on Sunday as one of the Top Ten History Books. If you have never read any of Chris Harman’s work then check out Bookmarks The Socialist Bookshop or the Marxist Internet Archive.

The best way to celebrate Chris’s contribution to socialist activism is to redouble our efforts to build socialist and trade union organisation around the world.

Oxfam gets it wrong on Afghanistan

Is it just me who finds Oxfam’s position on Afghanistan profoundly misjudged? The organisation has had an office in Afghanistan since 1992 (e.g. it was able to operate under previous regimes). It currently takes a position of supporting the occupation of Afghanistan. Surely a humanitarian organisation should simply seek to operate where it can, not take a position on the rights and wrongs of George Bush’s inherited foreign policy?

Three cheers for bold David Cameron, the future prime minster of Great Britain, who took a valiant stand in 2007. Telling the nations' favourite daily that he will change the course of British politics and made 'a cast iron garantee' that he would call a referendum on "any" EU treaty on the table.

Into the Storm: Churchill on the Jewish involvement in the Russian Revolution

In 1920, Churchill wrote a full page article for the Illustrated Sunday Herald detailing the Jewish involvement in the Russian revolution:

"This movement amongst the Jews (the Russian Revolution) is not new. From the days of Spartacus Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, and down to Trotsky (Russia), Bela Kuhn (Hungary), Rosa Luxembourg (Germany) and Emma Goldman (United States), this world wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilization and the reconstruction of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It played, as a modern writer, Mrs. Nesta Webster, has so ably shown, a definitely recognizable part in the tragedy of the French Revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the Nineteenth Century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities has gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire. There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshevism and in the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution by these international and for the most part atheistic Jews. Moreover, the principal inspiration and driving power comes from Jewish leaders."

When it came to the conduct of the Civil War in Russia Churchill personally warned White Army General Denikin, whose forces Britain was funding and equipping and who were undertaking pogroms against Jewish communities, that “my task in winning support in Parliament for the Russian Nationalist cause will be infinitely harder if well-authenticated complaints continue to be received from Jews in the zone of the Volunteer Armies“. General Denikin ignored Churchill’s warnings, and the pogroms continued.

Back to the Labour Future

Under the guise of “Labour Future” New Labour’s right wing have issued a series of policy pamphlets to, in their words, “counter the impression that Labour is intellectually exhausted”.

To be fair the initiative at least frames itself in the context of the challenge of Climate Change. Nevertheless if you were to draw up a radical agenda for saving Labour from years in the wilderness, would you really start here?

Some thoughts on the key points drawn from the published documents (yes god help me I did read them)…

Sensible and responsible banking structures and a strong role for mutuals.
(Ok, not sure what this means, attack tax havens? Regulate exec pay, intervene to support mutuals in the market place? Give the FSA some balls? Stop ex bankers running the FSA like a club? Ban MP’s from bank exec boards? Put union reps on bank exec boards- where is the meat?)

All- ethnic minority short lists for MP selection
(Ok, but as the women only short list proves, unless you allow more party democracy and grassroots input into selection procedures you will get more loyalist robots)

Constitutional definition of the basic social rights to which the citizen is entitled, and a means of enforcing them.
(So no new rights then?)

The NHS has to be empowered with data and willingness to penalise poor performance in hospitals and primary care
(So more market discipline then?)

Scrap Trident and some investment in the London airports
(Ok, now were cooking!)

Far less rigid approach to public spending is required, including fixing public sector pay and pensions
(Daw…By fixing you presumably mean cutting?)

State organisations should be given more independence. Each one should have a tight rolling three-year budget without constant changes of funding formulae.
(More privatization by stealth)

Performance incentives of public sector employees
(Screw over the public sector ethos and introduce performance related pay, because we are all selfish individuals after all- favour bullying managers and the young, screw the tired mothers, older workers, bereaved or sick)

Creating a fair system of prisons and probation
(What does that mean?)

Fixed-term parliaments
(Ok , not that exciting tho)

Finishing reform of the Lords
(So more unelected union busters running the government then?)

Restoring the balance between national and local government.
(Unclear on how?)

Offer a zero VAT rate on all domestic insulation and energy-efficient products.
(About time!)

Provide some financial support for schemes to make homes more energy-efficient.
(Already happening, or was then wasn’t, are you paying attention? This is not new thinking )

Cut VAT to 5 per cent for all repair and maintenance work on homes.
(Ok)

Rechannelling funds from the child tax credits and childcare tax credits system would take us away from complex state bureaucracies toward easily understood universal entitlements.
(Not sure I understand, universal benefits or targeted benefits, which and how?)

Long-term shift of spending to the Army (and ground support) from strategic nuclear defence and the Navy and Air Force.
(More economic conscription for unwinnable wars)

Europe as a positive, win-win situation for both British and progressive politics.
(So in fact less democracy, support Euro trade block presided over by President Blair)

Butt out Stelzer!

Does Tony Blair have any friends left beyond his immediate 1997 dinner party circle? Surely the recent press forays of Napoleonic heart throb Silvio Berlusconi and free market grandee Irwin Stelzer , both seeking to make the case for Blair’s appointment as EU president, shows how toxic Blair has become. He can only be praying the old friend Simian Bush Jnr stays the hell out of the media.

Stelzer sets out his case for Blair in today’s Guardian . He thinks Blair is great because 1) He got elected 2) He got rid of Saddam 3) He doesn’t like Trade unions 4) He is not embarrassed to use his public office to make lots of money. Well gee, Irwin, who is you audience here?

Stelzer is widely thought of as Ruper Murdock’s representative on earth. As for muscular and tanned Silvio, well he told the Italian press that "My government and I will work to ensure we do not lose a great political legacy, made with courage, equilibrium and prudence without uncertainty."

The Iraq War? Equilibrium and Prudence? The man is a shitwicket!

Campaign groups are trying to raise the profile of recent events in the Democratic Republic of Congo where a United Nation’s backed offensive in the eastern part of the county is having disasterous consequences. A report by the Congo Advocacy Commission suggests that one civilian has been killed, seven women raped and nine hundred people displaced for every rebel FDLR (Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda) soldier disarmed by current UN offensive.

Between 1998 and 2003 as many as 5.2 million civilians have died in the Congo, making this conflict the bloodiest since the second world war.

The US is heavily involved in funding and training the Congolese army.

British companies previously implicated in exploiting the conflict include Afrimex.

Woking Labour MP Gillian Merron stated on behalf of Her Majesties Government in January 2009 that:

“We fully support the mandate of the UN mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUC), which was renewed by UN Security Council resolution 1856 (2008) on 22 December 2008”.

What is fascism?

What is fascism? Well you could reduce it to something like “an attempt to build a mass movement in order to smash all forms of collective democratic organisation and establish a strong centralized capitalist nation state under a strong leader”. The word fascism comes from the name for a bunch of rods, ribbon and axe that symbolized the collective strength of Etruscan kings. I think the aspect of this that turned on the first self declared Fascists, like Mussolini, was the symbol of the axe which was supposed to represent the right of kings to exercise the death penalty in judicial matters. Strong competent leadership will sort us out, say the fascists, and mix in some opportunist racism to mobilise people onto the streets.

Clearly British attempts to identify a strong competent leader have so far evaded the UK Neo-fascist movement. Tyndall and Griffin of the BNP have not commanded high levels of respect amongst people with any smarts. That said the British far right have managed to fan the flames of hatred against vulnerable minorities and have to be taken seriously at this level. What the far right does matters because real people are and will continue to suffer if the fascists are allowed to grow. The question you should ask yourself is “exactly how big do I want the fascist movement to get before I do something about it?”.

UK fascists have recently attempted to go down the Le Pen route to respectability with limited electoral success (2 MEPS, some councilors). The tactic - wear suits, make occasional veiled references to holocaust and violence etc. There is however a limit to the utility of town hall ‘hang em and flog em’ politics when attempting to construct a fascist movement (as opposed to say achieving a lumpen rightwing vote against perceived problems with immigration). To build a movement you need foot soldiers, and to motivate them you need to find a way of binding them together.

Hitler said that whilst the ordinary fascist sympathizer was ‘only a little worm’ he could be made to feel part of a ‘great dragon’ if the party supplied a chance to march up and down with bright banners and give supporters a feeling that they control the streets. The Hitlerites in the BNP leadership are still conflicted over how to implement this part of “the leaders” blueprint.

Apparently some members have decided to go down the traditional route and attempt street marches against Islam, organized by front organisations like the English Defence League. The left needs to be clear what is at stake with these marches. If they are left unopposed then we face a return to the mid-late seventies when racist culture was part of the mainstream. Allowing the fascists to march unopposed, to poster and sticker unopposed, to sell their racist newspapers unopposed, will allow then to seep into the mainstream and give confidence to every closet racist to be more open about his or her prejudices. It will make taking on the institutionalized racism in society much harder. The mobalisations of Unite Against Fascism, trade union and community bodies against the EDF are to be welcomed and supported. It may get slightly worse before it gets better, but best that we all bury our differences and unite now against the fascists whilst they are small and internally divided.

David Blanchflower, “respected economist” and former member of the Bank of England's monetary policy committee, has laid into Shadow Chancellor George Osbourne’s financial plans. Apparently the Tory plans will push the UK economy into a "death spiral".

"We are in the midst of the worst recession most people alive have ever experienced, or will probably ever experience, Lesson one in a deep recession is you don't cut public spending until you are into the boom phase. The consequence of cutting too soon is to drive the economy into a depression. The Tory economic proposals have the potential to push the British economy into a death spiral of decline."

May work on the doorstep.

Get to know Gove (and friends)

David Cameron at the Conservative Party Conference claimed that ‘we are all in this together’ talking about the need for swinging public service cuts. Well hats off to the shadow cabinet for not being caught out over MP’s expenses. They made their pile the old fashioned way….

Shadow cabinet's second jobs: Their hourly rate (The minimum wage is £5.73)

£1,153: Shadow Schools Secretary Michael Gove earned £5,000 a month – or £60,000 a year – for "one hour a week or so" of journalism for The Times.

£764: Francis Maude, shadow Cabinet Office minister, earned £36,700 a year from Barclays Bank for six days a year of work, including overseas meetings.

£187.50: David Willetts was paid £60,000 a year for 40 days' work as an adviser on pensions for Punter Southall in London's Jermyn Street.

£145: Oliver Letwin worked eight hours a week giving corporate finance advice to investment bank NM Rothschild, earning £145 an hour, or just over £60,000 per annum.

£395: Shadow Business Secretary Ken Clarke was paid £38,000 as a non-executive director of Independent News and Media, owner of The Independent. He worked about one day a month.

£346: Andrew Mitchell, shadow International Development Secretary, was paid £36,000 a year for one to two hours a week of consultancy work with Accenture.

£260: Shadow Health Secretary Andrew Lansley was paid £25,000 a year as a non-executive director for Profero, working one day a month.

Why support the Post Workers?

It will never be profitable to deliver hospital results to elderly pensioners in tower blocks. It will never be profitable to deliver the holiday post card to your auntie from the Isle of Skye. The protection of such an important social and universal post service requires cross subsidizing from more profitable forms of mail between big urban centres.

The tragedy of the New Labour years has been the undermining of this previously loved and respected service by the half baked introduction of the market, the failure to invest in appropriate infrastructure and the ludicrous public subsidising of private delivery firms.

It is a bare arsed fact that the only institution standing between us and yet another full, disastrous and costly public service privatisation is the post workers union (The Communication Workers Union). New Labour have hoped that, by appointing multi millionaire super executives Alan Crozier and Adam Leighton, shear bloody minded intimidation, belligerence and the occasional bung might soften up the post office for privatisation. The result has been to develop one of worst cultures of management bullying in any industry in the UK. Little wonder that post workers have just voted for industrial action (76% yes vote on 67 percent turnout).

This strike is not about the impact of the internet, or Spanish practices, or modernisation. It is about the ability of collective action to defend a social good. It is about illusions of market choice obscuring the reality of reduced service and greater cost. It is about the role of unions in our society and whether the political agenda is to be shaped by working people like you and me or yacht hopping, multi millionaire smoozing free marketeers like Lord Peter (unelected) Mandleson and George (related to George III) Osbourne.

IDF general to boycott beauty products

The Israeli Army (Israeli Defence Force) is having a conscription crisis. Large numbers of young Israelis are finding ways to avoid compulsory armed service. Usually by citing religious objections, however a recent high profile case involves a successful model Bar Rafaeli, who chose to arrange a marriage of convenience and take up an advertising contract rather than serve.

Bizarrely Bar Rafaeli originally agreed to compensate for this by promoting conscription and visiting injured soldiers. As the stupidity of such a compromise has sunk in her attitude has hardened and she has publicly condemned conscription as futile waste of her time,

“Israel or Uganda, what difference does it make? It makes no difference to me. Why is it good to die for our country? What, isn’t it better to live in New York? Why should 18-year-old kids have to die? It’s dumb that people have to die so that I can live in Israel.” Bar Rafaeli

Even more bizarrely the retired general in charge of IDF HR has come out and said that in response he will boycott the beauty products she advertises. Major-General (Res.) Elazar Stern is quoted as saying, "What we have here is a moral problem as well as a democratic one – a society causing its own internal decay, and we won't be able to endure it eventually". Eric Pickles, Tory Party Chairman and part time fat northern bloke in City trader braces, has got himself into a bit of a pickle over the Waffen SS. The Tories require the support of rather unpleasant East European nationalist in order to form a new anti-Federal right wing block in the European Parliament. Therefore Pickles has had to come out fighting with apologies for the Waffen SS Latvian volunteer legion which was apparently only “following orders” when rounding up Jews for mass extermination in 1942.

In Latvia the nationalists have attempted to portray the ‘volunteer’ Latvian SS as ‘nationalists’, ‘patriots’ and ‘anti-communists’ rather than the unwilling ‘conscripts’ that Pickles has described.

The Tories are unlikely to back down now they are in so deep. The net effect is that the NEW MORAL TORY PARTY © is helping to bring Fascism and it’s apologists back into the mainstream.

This book is a co-written auto-biography and political polemic written by the youngest and most famous female MP in Afghanistan Malalai Joya. The book is a testament to Joya’s bravery in standing up to not only the Taliban, but also the corrupt Afghan government and the US occupiers. It seems like a miracle that someone like Joya could exist in Afghanistan, she appears to have been shaped by a series of chance developments that have led her to a position of moral authority that she now feels compelled to exercise. A political father, ending up in a secular controlled refugee camp, coming from a part of Afghanistan free from direct Taliban or Northern Alliance control. These factors have allowed her to educate herself and have lead her to office in a seemingly otherwise utterly dismal political and social scene. The book is the story of how she has used this office to stand against the corrupt western backed government of warlords, drug runners and religious fundamentalists (Yes that’s the government not the Taliban).

This book should be read by anybody who is unsure whether we should pull our troops out of Afghanistan. It may not be the world’s greatest autobiography, but it is a compelling and easy read. I read it cover to cover in a few hours, finding it impossible to put down.

I wrote this book because there is a good chance I will be killed. Afghanistan has a sophisticated political history but has suffered from foreign interventions. The English, Russians, Iranians, Pakistanis etc have oppressed us and should leave us alone, we are smart enough to run our own country. A democratic secular Afghanistan is impossible as long as the US backs a government of corrupt murderers, warlords and rapists from the Northern Alliance. The people do not support these people because they comitted crimes worse than the Taliban after the Russians were driven out. Why has the US put these people into power? I was elected to the post invasion Loya Jirga because of my work in the local community (for example educating girls in secret under Taliban rule). When I got to the Loya Jurga I persuaded them to let me speak and used my speech to denounce all the warlords and criminals in the room. They were furious but I became known all over Afghanistan. I was elected as an MP. I am now banned from parliament because I have used my position to point out the government and main opposition are all warlords, drug runners or Iranian backed thugs. The softer reformists are scared to speak out. The occupying forces don’t support me. The NGO’s don’t support me. The people support me. The Taliban are brutal thugs but the occupation is making them strong. US troops should get out now. The situation for women is worse. Most Women MP’s are often worse on women’s issues than the warlords because they are put there by the warlord’s parties. I will keep speaking out.

Heart throb actor Rob Lowe is quoted in last Sunday’s Observer as saying:

"You know, there's that great quote: 'If you're young and you're not a liberal, you have no heart. If you're older and not a conservative, you have no brain.' I started out being a really, really liberal Democrat. [That changes] as you get older and you have children and you get more life experience."

Is it just me that gets annoyed by the use of this brain dead platitude?

Winston Churchill is supposed to have stated that “ If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain."

However there is no record of anyone hearing Churchill say this and it does not appear in his written works. Furthermore it makes no sense at all because Churchill was a Tory at 25 and crossed the floor to the Liberals at 28 and remained there at 35. Furthermore he was a lifelong Imperialist without any evidence of youthful progressive vigor.

Lets face it, some people grow old, get tired, get disillusioned or increasingly comfortable and stop giving a toss. Can you please not bore us with your diminishing lack of imagination by repeating this tedious quote or even worse, some half arsed version of it.

Hey Progressive- Don't waste eight months whinging and angsting- vote now with an application form!

The prospect of eight months of liberal and left angsting about 'who should get my vote' fills me with dread. As if the non political middle ground isn't, for now, bored and angry and shifting towards a classic memory loss vote for the nasty party.

Get this into your head's progressive types- how you vote in May will not be your definitive contribution to making the world a better place this year. The right will have its day in May. Why? Because Labour has wasted three election victories and years of our lives. People know this in their bones.

Labour will loose. No other progressive party can win. By all means vote Labour, Green, Respect, Socialist etc etc. Just don't waste my time with drawn out laments about how 1997 was such a time of hope and the joys of lesser evilism blah blah blah. The five seconds you spend voting next May is not worth boring me to death.

By all means join the Greens, join the fight to move Labour to the left in opposition, join the fight to establish a new Left Party, but please don't drone on about whether voting Lib Dem is a better progressive option (No it clearly isn't) or whether to staple your nose closed and vote Mandleson.

The most important thing you can do this year is join a Union. That is where the fight is going to be. Go to the TUC web site, find the union for you and join it.

To be frank, I told you so. I knew they would be bastards in 1997. Nothing has proved me wrong. Yes we got health and education spending, but the the PFI mortages, the health managers, the academy schools, the US union busting health companies, all came with the package. And these two issues are supposed to be the positive parts of the legacy.

I too have the sinking feeling that comes from the prospect of Oxford Bullingdon club arrogance getting elected. Yet as much as I despair at this, there is at least the prospect that the Tories will not be that strong in government because most people will simply not vote. Subsequently there is an outside chance, that the unions, freed from the 'don't rock the boat' shackles that tie them to Labour centre right politics, will punch Cameron and Osbourne in the face so hard that their testicles vibrate.

In the meantime we are faced with the site of a morally bankrupt Labour Party fawning at the feet an unelected war mongering privatising shit . Why? Simply because he is good at being an unelected war mongering privatising shit and on the sinking Labour ship he gives the impression that he is keeping his head.
